Meet Your Christian Homebirth Midwife in Erie, Colorado
Bethany is the founder of Brave Arrows Midwifery, a Christian homebirth midwife serving families throughout Erie, Colorado, and the surrounding Front Range communities. She is passionate about walking alongside mothers and fathers as they welcome new life into their families, believing that every baby is a gift from the Lord and every birth is an opportunity to witness God's incredible design.
Her journey into birth work began as a Registered Nurse in cardiac medicine. While she valued the lifesaving skills of hospital medicine, she quickly recognized that true wellness extends far beyond treating illness. This realization sparked a deep passion for holistic health, nutrition, and supporting the body's God-designed ability to heal and thrive.
Although Bethany had always been drawn to birth, becoming a mother herself confirmed her calling. After the birth of her first son, she pursued certification as a birth doula and has been privileged to support hundreds of families through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum since 2016.
In 2019, the Lord opened the door for Bethany to serve in Colorado birth centers, where she combined her nursing background with hands-on experience in physiologic birth outside the hospital setting. There she developed a deep appreciation for relationship-based maternity care and witnessed the beauty of supporting healthy, low-risk women in an environment that honors the normal process of birth.
In 2025, Bethany completed her midwifery education and earned national certification as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). She is also a Registered Nurse (RN) and maintains certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and CPR.
Today, Bethany has attended more than 300 births, including natural physiologic births, homebirths, water births, vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), breech births, twin births, unplanned homebirths, birth center births, hospital births, and high-risk medical births. This broad experience allows her to recognize normal birth, identify when additional support is needed, and confidently care for families throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
Bethany believes birth is not a medical event waiting for something to go wrong—it is a normal physiological process designed by God. She often describes her role as a midwife like watching a swimming pool: "A good midwife watches the pool carefully and only jumps in when she is truly needed." Her goal is to create a peaceful, safe environment where mothers feel supported, informed, and empowered while remaining prepared to act when circumstances require.
Each homebirth is attended by a carefully prepared team of three experienced birth professionals, allowing families to receive attentive, personalized care while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
Outside of birth work, Bethany enjoys homeschooling her five children, caring for her small farmette, and spending time with her family. She considers it one of life's greatest privileges to serve women as they experience pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.
If you're searching for a Christian homebirth midwife in Colorado, homebirth care near Erie, holistic prenatal care, or faith-based maternity care, Bethany would be honored to walk with your family through this sacred season.
